The fIDo RAIN RFID sled reader (model R1307I) from Impinj partner CAEN RFID solves both these problems. Powered by the Impinj E710 RAIN RFID reader chip, the fIDo features an embedded wireless charger that automatically powers the user’s smartphone while the attached sled is being charged, eliminating the need to detach the phone and charge it separately. The fIDo is also lightweight and ergonomically designed to avoid tiring work sessions.

The fIDo’s design differs from a similar CAEN RFID device, the CAEN skID mobile reader, which mounts to the back of a smartphone, tablet, or other mobile reading device and is intended for less demanding, medium-range applications such as inventory counting in smaller spaces that require less read range.
