Elpas Software Interfaces With Impinj Speedway® RFID Readers
Integration allows asset tracking for both active and passive RFID tags.
Seattle, WA March 3, 2014 - Elpas, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco (NYSE: TYC), announces the interface of its real-time location technology and Eiris tracking and alarming software with Impinj Speedway RFID readers, providing a powerful asset tracking and inventory management solution.
Through a combination of Eiris Asset Manager, Elpas active RFID tags and Impinj long-range RFID readers, end users can achieve several important goals, including reducing asset shrinkage, streamlining asset inventory, optimizing asset utilization, reducing the time spent searching for assets and improving the quality of service.
Impinj xPortal Speedway readers are capable of reading EPC Global Gen2 tags at ranges up to several feet with high reliability. Using the Asset Manager application within the Eiris software, customers can search and track assets tagged by Elpas and Impinj through mobile or desktop browsers.
Eiris may also be used to alert users when assets leave their designated areas or when par levels, such as boundary markers for hospital supply inventory levels deviate from user-defined levels. Similarly, the current location of assets can be included in real-time inventory reports or bio-medical work orders for use during preventative maintenance.
