SML Introduces New, Smaller Inlay Based on Impinj M700 Tag Chips

Impinj partner SML RFID announces a new RAIN RFID inlay based on Impinj M700 tag chips that increases capability while scaling down size.

Impinj partner SML RFID recently announced the release of its GB4M700 inlay. Made with the Impinj M700 series tag chips, SML says the new inlay will help retailers boost efficiency while simultaneously reducing the total material and shipping costs.

The GB4M700 inlay, which measures 42x16mm, maximizes performance, achieving a capability that previously only larger inlays could reach. The new SML inlay can be fitted on the vast majority of tagged products, improving the consistency of read performance for inventory tracking in large-scale retail deployments. In addition to supporting clothing and denim tags, the inlay also supports the tagging of polybags and boxed items.

Implementing RAIN RFID in retail can increase ROI and improve omnichannel operations through real-time inventory visibility, helping retailers identify, locate and sell products from all retail locations through multiple channels.

Impinj M730 and M750 tag chips can be attached to or embedded in nearly any item, globally, to enable solutions for high-speed inventory counting, loss prevention with frictionless self-checkout, and embedded tagging with seamless product returns.
