See the Latest in Wearable RAIN RFID Technology at NRF 2019

Impinj, r-pac International, and AD TexTrace combined their innovative technologies to deliver the newest application of RAIN RFID integrated fabric to the apparel market at NRF 2019.

In response to growing demand for RAIN RFID embedded tagging solutions for fashion and sport brands, Impinj, r-pac International, and AD TexTrace combined their innovative technologies to deliver the newest application of RAIN integrated fabric to the apparel market at NRF 2019.

The new Woven Soft and Brand Label allows a RAIN RFID chip to be sewn directly into a garment label. The label is thinner, smaller, and softer than its predecessor, with the same embedded RAIN connectivity. The Impinj Monza R6-P chip integrates directly into either the garment care label or brand label, enabling more creative and flexible tagging options for manufacturers. Embedded RAIN tags can be used for supply chain assurance, retail inventory, and theft deterrent systems.

Stephan Buehler, CEO of AD TexTrace, said, “Our goal from the beginning was to bring a product to the market that not only enriches existing RAIN RFID solutions by combining multiple functions into a single embedded label but also drives product connectivity within the supply chain and to the consumer. The new soft label solution delivers size flexibility and expanded printing options for production, along with increased wearable comfort for the consumer.”

“This collaborative partnership with AD TexTrace, in conjunction with Impinj, brought together the best in technology, performance, and production,” said Michael Teitelbaum, CEO of r-pac International. “The Woven Soft and Brand Label is more than a common pocket or label – it´s a new way to connect customers with products throughout the whole product lifecycle.”

“We see an increasing trend towards embedded tagging solutions that combine merchandise visibility and theft protection in a label that is soft to the touch,” said Gahan Richardson, VP of IC Sales at Impinj. “The innovation and leadership of AD TexTrace and r-pac International, built-on the high-volume Impinj Monza R6-P tag IC, delivers the required functionality and exceptional performance to the retail market.”
