Impinj device OEM partner Metratec's four-port RAIN RFID reader module brings high performance and a robust form factor to the most challenging RFID applications.
The PLRM Long Range UHF Reader/Writer OEM Module is built on the Impinj E710 RAIN RFID reader chip, which offers high reader sensitivity, low power consumption, and support for the Impinj Gen2X solutions toolbox that unlocks advanced reader capabilities. The module’s aluminum casing keeps it running cool even at high ambient temperatures and its compact footprint means it can be used in nearly any size reader, from small handhelds to larger fixed readers.
Superior performance across industries
Metratec's PLRM reader module is ideal for use in any industry that requires a high level of performance under difficult conditions. For example, the PLRM excels at tracking and identifying RAIN-tagged items that are far away or located in hard-to-read positions.
Thanks to its compact form factor, the module can be seamlessly integrated into almost any device where size and weight are concerns but read range is non-negotiable. This makes it ideal for a wide range of applications — from autonomous inventory scanning robots in retail to in-vehicle RFID systems to return stations for reusable coffee cups, which are becoming increasingly common.
With its high performance, the PLRM also serves as an excellent foundation for anyone looking to develop a specialized fixed 2W RFID reader that can read UHF transponders from a distance of up to 10 meters (33 feet) — without the challenge of building the RF design from scratch.
One example are manufacturers of industrial RAIN readers used to track work-in-progress who will appreciate the robust, heat-resistant aluminum casing that protects the module against mechanical stress and allows for efficient heat dissipation — even in ambient temperatures as high as 85 degrees Celcius (185 degrees Fahrenheit.)
