Steve Sanghi Wins Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award
Steve Sanghi, Impinj’s board chair, recognized for Global Semiconductor Alliance’s most prestigious award
We are pleased to celebrate Steve Sanghi, Impinj’s board chair, who was recently recognized by the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) with the Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award. Established in 1999, the Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award is the GSA’s highest achievable honor and celebrates distinguished individuals in semiconductors and related ecosystem. The award recognizes Steve for his exceptional contributions, commemorating how his vision and global leadership have transformed and elevated the entire semiconductor industry.
Steve has had an incredible career. He was named Executive Chairman of Microchip Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHP), a leading provider of smart, connected, and secure embedded control solutions, in March 2021 after serving as Microchip’s CEO from 1990 in one of the longest CEO tenures in the semiconductor industry. He was its Chairman since 1993. Before Microchip, Sanghi held management positions at Waferscale and Intel. He joined the Impinj board of directors in 2021 and became Impinj Board Chair in 2022. Steve has brought a significant depth of experience in strategy, operations, and leadership in each of these roles. Steve has unquestionably made the semiconductor industry and world a better place and Impinj is delighted to share in the celebration of this well-deserved recognition.
