Idox Health Shares Implementation Successes at GS1 Healthcare Conference

The 2019 GS1 Healthcare conference featured trusted leaders sharing their implementation successes.

GS1 is working towards a future where the healthcare sector integrates its standards into processes for all relevant items, locations, and people to drive patient safety and improve supply chain efficiency in healthcare. Building on the improvements already being made in NHS using GS1 standards, the 2019 GS1 Healthcare conference featured trusted leaders sharing their implementation successes.

Senior NHS and Department of Health and Social Care leaders discussed their experiences during GS1 Healthcare Conference panel

Impinj Gold partner Idox Health was at the conference discussing how their iFIT asset management solution, built on the Impinj platform, provides users with the ability to locate, manage and utilize medical equipment more efficiently. With GS1 compliance built into the platform, the solution aligns with Scan4Safety programs, providing traceability of the assets assigned to each patient, including time and location data.

Currently iAssets has been adopted by seven NHS Trusts, and has contributed to savings worth up to £2.5 million in individual Trust cost improvement programs. Idox Health’s planning and deployment of the solution is supported by the strategic placement of Impinj RAIN RFID readers at key entrance, exit, and choke points across hospital sites. By providing the tools needed to track, monitor, and locate assets in a timely manner, hospital staff can save time, ensure easy retrieval of assets, see an impact on cost improvement programs, and deliver more streamlined, safe, and efficient patient care.
