June 28, 2005 - Seattle, WA

Impinj, Inc., the fabless semiconductor company whose patented Self-Adaptive Silicon® technology enables its two business lines: semiconductor intellectual property (SIP) and high performance RFID products, today announced that for the second consecutive year it has been recognized for technology and business excellence by Red Herring and Venture All Stars. In addition, AlwaysOn has chosen Impinj as one of its Top 100 Private Company award winners.

Impinj has been named “Venture of the Year” by Venture All Stars (www.ventureallstars.com), the integrated media, marketing and advisory services organization that monitors and provides access to the Pacific Northwest’s seed to mid-stage venture ecosystem. Impinj was selected from a list of more than 150 private companies in Washington, Oregon and British Columbia that were evaluated for multiple business and funding criteria including strong management, financial backing and high-growth potential. The 2005 Venture All Stars selection committee consists of representatives from more than 35 venture capital organizations including Arch Venture Partners, Greenstone VC, Madrona Venture Group, Motorola Ventures, OVP Venture Partners, Puget Sound Venture Club, Voyager Capital and Yaletown Venture Partners.

Impinj was handpicked for the Top 100 Private Company award by the AlwaysOn (http://www.alwayson-network.com) editorial team based on a set of five criteria – innovation, market potential, customer adoption, media buzz and investor value creation. The AO 100 was selected from over 1,000 companies, peer-nominated by leading venture capitalists, investment bankers and industry analysts. The AO 100 will be honored at the AO2005: Innovation Summit at a VIP reception at 5:00pm on July 19, 2005 at the Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center on the Stanford University campus in Palo Alto, California.

The Red Herring award recognizes the 100 private North American firms that play a leading role in technology and innovation. A weekly magazine, Red Herring (http://redherring.com) is read by technology entrepreneurs, investors and industry observers, and its lists of private companies are an important part of the publication's tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies. Red Herring's editorial staff rigorously evaluated more than 900 private companies through a careful analysis

of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development, and named Impinj to the “100 Hottest Private Companies.” Impinj was also recognized by Red Herring in 2004 when the company was named to the magazine’s “Top 100 Innovators” list.
