Impinj, Inc. celebrates its 15th year in business with a branding refresh and the opening of its new headquarters. This strategic rebranding initiative reflects Impinj’s role in connecting billions of items to the Internet, expansion into software, and driving growth in markets such as retail, healthcare and manufacturing.
The new logo and brand identity is an evolution of the former visual elements with a modernized typeface, color palette and a reimagining of the original red burst. Many Impinj web properties and assets reflect the new brand identity, and the remainder will be updated over the next six months.
The new brand extends to Impinj’s physical space as well, with the official opening of its new headquarters at 400 Fairview in Seattle. Impinj announced in December 2014 plans to relocate to support its employee growth, which grew by 50 in 2015 to-date.
The company’s success is the result of adoption of the Impinj platform among leading companies in retail, healthcare and beyond. The retail industry has led adoption, but the healthcare industry is gaining traction. Impinj customers include major healthcare providers such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Healthcare companies choose Impinj for a variety of solutions including tracking consumables and high value assets, managing pharmaceutical supply chain, or improving patient experiences and care.
Impinj has also expanded its partner network to bring on new alliances with software vendors from major organizations including Booz Allen Hamilton, Detego, hybris labs, Intelligent InSites, NEC Display Solutions of Americas, Nedap, RetailNext and SAP.

During this milestone anniversary, the company sold its 10 billionth RAIN RFID chip and received several industry awards for its technology strength and industry leadership. Notably, the company won two awards at UBM Canon’s EE Times and EDN Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards; Impinj was the gold winner for Internet of Things Product of the Year for the Impinj Monza R6 chip, and the company’s Founder, Vice Chairman and CEO, Dr. Chris Diorio was named Innovator of the Year. Impinj was also recognized with the 2015 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Leadership.
Impinj recently extended its platform with new products, including ItemSense software, Monza R6-P and S6-C chips, and the Indy RS2000 reader system-in-package (SiP).
