Impinj Highlights Innovation at RFID Journal Live 2012 Event

Seattle, WA March 22, 2012 - Leading UHF Gen 2 radio frequency identification (RFID) technology provider Impinj, Inc. will showcase new products, a wide range of educational presentations, and its global partner network at the 10th Annual RFID Journal Live on April 3-5, 2012 at the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, FL. The company will highlight a number of innovative new products and real-world demonstrations in its booth, as well as present five educational topics during the conference - all focused on enabling customers to easily deploy and reap the benefits of RFID technology. In addition, Impinj will promote its extensive network of global partners and resellers through a number of joint activities taking place at the event.

April 3, 2:30pm: RFID Solutions for Item-Level Tagging – Panel Discussion - RFID technology providers have developed solutions designed for suppliers looking to tag individual items. April 4, 2:20pm: Serialization Strategies for Scalable and Reliable Item Tagging – Serialization -assigning a unique number to every tagged item - is a fundamental requirement for RFID. For supply chains that don't already require it, serialization is a new responsibility that may demand allocation and distribution of serial numbers across complex, global operations. In this session, Impinj explains the purpose of serialization in item-level RFID tagging, review the range of available serialization approaches and discuss strategies that brand-owners can use to keep it simple without sacrificing flexibility.
April 4, 4:00pm: Crossing the Chasm from Barcode to RFID with Speedway Connect - Want to capture RFID data in less than 5 minutes? Speedway Connect is licensed software that runs on the Impinj Speedway Revolution reader and enables solution providers to easily plug-in RFID technology where barcode is used. Designed for AIDC resellers with RFID skill sets ranging from novice to expert, the simplified graphical user interface enables users to set basic reader configurations then pass the data to an application in keystrokes via USB-HID, serial, Ethernet or web-based delivery for RFID deployment without costly code changes or middleware expenses.
April 5, 2:00pm: What Capabilities Are Next for the UHF Gen 2 Standard - The original goal of the UHF Gen 2 protocol was to enhance a retailer's ability to identify, count and track items. But a UHF Gen 2 tag can accomplish much more than mere inventorying. Now on the horizon is the industry's next wave of applications, including loss identification and prevention, and item anti-counterfeiting. To enable these applications, the community is enhancing the UHF Gen 2 protocol to include these and other, forward-looking capabilities. In this session Impinj will give an advance preview of RFID's future.
