IndyTM  Reader Chip

The Impinj® product line includes the IndyTM reader chip based on award-winning technology acquired from Intel Corporation.

Indy Reader Chip Features and Benefits

The highly integrated Indy reader chip and supporting software deliver the building blocks for a full range of UHF Gen 2 RFID readers, from short-range embedded modules to long-range dock door readers.

  • Incorporates complete UHF Gen 2 standard transmit, receive, demodulation, and baseband functions

  • Integrates up to 90% of the components in a discrete reader design, providing for significantly smaller reader designs

  • Lowers design complexity, cuts manufacturing costs, and increases reliability

  • Enables longer battery life for handheld readers, power over USB for short range readers, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) for high performance, long range readers

  • Supports EPCglobal Gen 2 and ISO-18000-6C specifications, regional regulatory requirements and the full 840-960 MHz band

  • Supports low-level diagnostics, remote management and provisioning, and easy integration

  • Includes protocol firmware, programming tools, radio drivers and schematics to enable quick time-to-market
