1. What RFID markets does ADT serve?
ADT's portfolio of products and services gives end users the high performance, standards-based, physical foundation needed to read, collect, filter, and transmit the highest integrity data set. ADT's industry-leading design and deployment expertise, including site surveys, equipment installation, system configuration, training, and post-installation service and maintenance, allows for a scalable solution long term.
ADT has worked with many suppliers responding to retailer mandates as well as supporting the retailer initiative as they evaluate, pilot, and roll out RFID initiatives. ADT's Sensormatic brand is a leader in the electronic article surveillance (EAS) RF space and our RFID program leverages that retail footprint going forward.
2. How did you come to select Impinj's Speedway™ Reader?
As founding members of the Auto-ID Center and as a company involved heavily in RF for 35 years, we have a great deal of experience with this type of technology. We paid very close attention as the industry began testing and evaluating Gen 2 technology and [the] Speedway [reader]'s performance demonstrated to the market that the capabilities of Gen 2 were dramatic improvements. ADT prides itself on providing the highest integrity data set and working with [the] Speedway [reader] was imperative in doing that.
3. What value do you add to the product?
ADT's value is threefold. First, our vast experience in RF and EPC RFID standards-based deployments is unparalled and therefore gives us a great deal of expertise. Secondly, we bring the ability to support the physical layer after installation on a global basis. Lastly, we've developed a software application that sits on the reader that enhances its performance, filters out supply chain data from device data, provides a service gateway for third party support applications, and allows for remote diagnostics of the reader infrastructure.
