Seattle
Seattle: The Emerald City
Impinj is located about 5 miles north of downtown Seattle on a charming ship canal in the Fremont neighborhood -- an eclectic community known for its artistic and independent spirit. Chock full of locally-owned coffee & ice cream shops, diverse restaurants, neighborhood grocery stores, unique gift shops, art & music venues, and recreational activities, there's something for everyone -- all within walking distance. For the health conscious, our office is situated near two health clubs and an organic, high-quality grocery store, and we're bordered by access to the city's more than 30-miles of paved interurban trail. Culturally rich by day and night, Fremont is also the home of companies like Adobe Systems, Getty Images, and a number of other high-tech startups.
There are millions of reasons to live in Seattle. It's a safe city with good schools and growing property values. Washington has no state income tax, and being a homeowner in Seattle is much more affordable than in the nation's other high-tech areas. With a greater-metropolitan area population just over 1.7 million, Seattle has big-city resources with a small-city feel.
Seattle is the jewel of the Pacific Northwest, and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Although we're known for rain, Seattle's maritime climate receives about 39 inches of rain a year-not much more than the 36 inches in Dallas, Texas, and less than the 42 inches in New York City. And, Seattle is famous for bright, sunny, mild summers.
For those who love the outdoors, there's no better place to live, with more than 6,100 acres of city parks, and the Cascade and Olympic Mountains, Pacific Ocean, and San Juan Islands all just a day- or weekend-trip away. We're a hardy bunch, and you'll see bike riders, runners, and walkers outside throughout the year.
For those who prefer indoor activities, Seattle is an international city with an active day and night life for all interests and walks of life. With world-class restaurants, theater, ballet, symphony, opera, and museums; dozens of diverse children's activities; indoor soccer and rock climbing; many movie theaters, bowling alleys, night clubs, and concert venues; and quirkier fare such as roller derby and whirlyball, there's something for everyone.
